"Prisoners Assistance Nepal" (PA Nepal)

Everyone of us can contribute to make this world a better place!

During my numerous travels I have seen not only beautiful things, but also had to see a lot of suffering and misery. Especially the women's rights situation in Nepal  is dramatic. As in other countries in the region, sadly it is very common that sexual assaults and rapes are not prosecuted. On the contrary, even the women are often sentenced to prison, because they had non- or pre-marital sexual intercourse. Disowned by the family, the women are forced to take their children to the prison. Due to the Nepalese law, only the prosecuted person will be supplied with food, but not the children. To what horrible circumstances this leads, in addition to the overcrowded prisons, can be only hardly described.

Now it has become Mrs. Indira Ranamagar's mission  in Nepal to alleviate this suffering and to supply these children with food, shelter and education. Therefore Indira Ranamagar founded the organization "Prisoners Assistance Nepal" (PA Nepal). With the help of donations, 4 orphanages in Kathmandu, Sankhu, Palpa and Jhapa could be opened to date. For her 20-years engagement Indira Ranamagar was recently honored with the "2014 World's Children's Honorary Award" by Queen Silvia of Sweden. More details can be found at http://www.panepal.org
